What We Offer

Programs built for Ashburn households

Three pathways of care—crisis relief, skills for steadier work, and companionship for youth and seniors—designed so neighbors know where to turn and what happens next.

Program 01

Family Stabilization & Crisis Relief

When a paycheck disappears mid-month, we move quickly: grocery vouchers, short-term rent-bridge referrals, and calm budgeting conversations so the next week is less frightening than the last.

Schedules

Intakes: Monday–Thursday, 9:00am–4:00pm · Hot-meal packaging: Tuesdays at our Ashburn staging table

Eligibility

Households in Ashburn and neighboring Loudoun communities facing an active crisis (job loss, medical debt, utility shutoff risk, or food insecurity). Proof of residence and a brief needs interview required.

Process

  1. Submit an intake request via our contact form or phone referral.
  2. Outreach staff confirms details within 1–2 business days.
  3. Eligible households receive a stabilization plan (vouchers, referrals, or counseling).
  4. Optional follow-up check-in within 30 days.

Program 02

Community Career & Skills Workshops

Evening labs cover email and spreadsheet basics, job-search hygiene, interview practice, and quiet coaching for workers who have been out of the market longer than they expected.

Schedules

Digital-skills labs: weekday evenings · Résumé clinics: twice monthly · Employer coffee chats: announced via newsletter

Eligibility

Adults 18+ seeking re-entry into work, career shifts after layoff, or foundational digital literacy. Priority for households already connected through Family Stabilization.

Process

  1. Register for an upcoming workshop cohort through intake.
  2. Attend orientation and complete a short skills self-assessment.
  3. Join lab sessions and one-on-one coaching slots.
  4. Receive résumé review and optional employer introduction.

Program 03

Youth & Senior Care Outreach

Saturday mentoring keeps teens outdoors and occupied. Nutrition check-ins and friendly clinic rides keep elders from slipping through the cracks when family support is thin.

Schedules

Youth mentoring: Saturdays · Senior nutrition visits: by appointment weekdays · Clinic ride coordination: request 48 hours ahead when possible

Eligibility

Youth ages 12–17 with caregiver consent; seniors living alone or with limited family support in the Ashburn / Loudoun area. Volunteer drivers and mentors undergo screening.

Process

  1. Caregiver or self-referral submits an outreach request.
  2. Program staff matches mentors or senior visitors.
  3. First visit or session is scheduled and confirmed.
  4. Ongoing cadence set based on need and volunteer capacity.

Family Stabilization · Ashburn

“After the shutoff notice, I did not know who to call. They answered the same afternoon, got groceries on our table by Tuesday, and sat with me to map the next two paychecks. No lecture—just help.”

Career Workshop graduate

“The evening labs were practical—spreadsheets, a cleaner résumé, and a coffee chat that led to interviews. I walked in after a layoff and walked out with a plan I could actually follow.”

Volunteer mentor · Youth Outreach

“Saturday mentoring is simple and good: outdoors, conversation, and kids who need a steady adult once a week. Huepham keeps the logistics clear so we can show up and stay present.”
